The Univeristy Theater, originally built and used as the University Library Stacks Wing, was designed by Charles Z. Klauder in 1923. Klauder, from Philadelphia, is the University of Colorado's most notable architect for the Boulder campus. The University Theater, however, was designed and built prior to Klauder's development of the over-arching campus architectural style (Tuscan vernacular), characterized by red-tile roofs and flagstone facades. The Univesity Theater also has red-tile roofs, but is made of stone and brick and characterizes a more elegant classical style. Modern additions were done later in the 20th century to expand the building. Model created by Crystal V. Olin.
