Built in 1934 by Robert A. Ilg to hide a water tower that serviced two swimming pools. It is built on a concrete base 10 feet underground to stabilize it. It is a 1/2 size replica of the original leaning tower in Pisa, Italy built 600 years earlier. When Ilg died in 1964, he left the tower to the nearby YMCA, on condition it remain standing until 2059.
