Basarab Tower (or IMFA Tower) is an elevator testing building in Bucharest. It has 20 floors (97 m - 112 m with antenna) and a surface of 10,000 m2. It is the biggest tower for elevators tested in Europe, but never used.
In order of Nicolae Ceausescu, the building was built quickly, using the method of continuous casting of concrete. After 3 months casting (day and night), exterior walls were done, since then the construction and interior fittings has lasted 2 years (1986 - 1988).
