The quarter south of the Luitpold street and east of the market contains several retail shops and restaurants/inns. Among them are the restaurant "Goldene Gans" (Golden Goose, the green building with said goose on its western façade) and the inn "Goldener Stern" (Golden Star, white building with gothic stepped gable). The latter is dated to 1314/15 and thus the oldest known middle-class house in Weißenburg. As it is typical, this inn contained one of Weißenburgs 20 breweries in former times. Behind the prestigious façades lie winding alleyways and backyards. Especially striking is the superimposed connecting building behind the house "Am Markt 7" with its brown façade.
