About six years ago I had a week of pure inspiration. I started writing a story that became my first novel, and went to bed. I awoke only an hour later in a cold sweat from a horrifying dream. I was driving this monstrous land speed car on the moon of some teal gas giant. I was against a full grid of other cars at speeds in excess of 350mph if the giant dials on the backs of my steering grips were to be believed. The track was an ancient shale ocean bed, paper smooth, flat as the curve of the earth, and flooded with a wispy layer of explosive gas that floated through the headlights gaze like snow on the road. I was loosing ( but not by much!) when the guy next to me lost control, and ignited the gas. So I'm racing from a wall of flame at about 400mph when a giant crustacean wanders out in front of me. Yeah. I think the crash launched me out of bed and into the dresser. So here it is: Powered by a 517cid W-9 mill: Fire Lake Racer #1. "The Heir's Prayers!"
