The High Coast Bridge was constructed between 1993 and 1997 to replace the old Sandöbron concrete arch bridge. The two 180 meter tall pylons are made of concrete and carry the two 650 millimeter thick suspension cables. Both cables consist of 11 300 individual 6 millimeter thick steel strands. The deck is made of steel and has two road lanes in both directions. Clearance is 40 meters during mean high water.
