Inaugurated on December 30, 1930, the Nacional is one of the most classical and emblematic hotels in Havana. Hotel Nacional de Cuba means pride for people from Havana and admiration from foreigners. This landmark hotel stores the still warm memories of the illustrious women and men who visited the island in the last century.
The Nacional is a mythical vantage point in the heart of Havana, the capital of Cuba. Surrounded by lovely gardens, it occupies a privileged location on a promontory right next to Havana's celebrated Malecón. The hotel's magnificent location offers one of the most striking views of greater Havana.
The Hotel stands out due to its refined elegance and its ancient splendor, which since 1930 has attracted a large number of personalities from the arts, science and politcs, such as British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, artists Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner, Johnny Weismuller, Maria Félix, Jorge Negrete, and scientist Alexander Flemming.
