The Gateway Plaza was phase two of the new reconstruction of Western Lower Manhattan, first being the construction of the World Trade Center. Built on now Battery Park City, a planned community with residential complexes to highrise office buildings built on Landfill from the World Trade Center from the 1970's to today. The Gateway Plaza includes three 34 story towers and six 7 and 6 story buildings. The Gateway Plaza started in 1983 and the whole complex was completed in 1985, the first complex built on Battery Park City.
