Alternative floor for Warré hive to replace the original. This provides a 'sump' below the entrance (some report bees dying over winter where dead bees have blocked the entrance in sub-zero periods). It also allows varroa monitoring (rest varroa sreen on yellow supports - angled to allow screen to be removed when non being monitored - in my view bees should have access to all areas of the hive when not monitoring so they can 'deal with' pests and intruders). Back (blue) is not glued & screwed so it can be removed to access for varroa monitoring or bottom feeding - secure with clips if friction insufficient. Pink landing board is optional - not necessary for the bees but can provide for better viewing/photography. Circular entrance hole is my personal preference as it better replicates a natural tree entrance and is easier for the bees to defend.
