Completed in 1998, the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the world. Its central span is 1991 meters (6,532 ft.) and the over all span is 3911 meters (12,826 ft.) The bridge survived the 1995 Kobe earthquake during its construction phase. Its towers as well are staggeringly tall at 282 meters (979 ft).Model created by Mason Thrall.
