Constructed in 1916, Science I is home to the Department of Geological and Atmospheric Sciences, Department of Microbiology, and the Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management at the Iowa State University. The Iowa State building has seen major additions on the south and west sides of the original building, and most recently a renovation in 2008 replacing many of the windows. This model was completed by Lucas Harris and Benjamin Schwartz.
