St. Jakob-Park, located in Basel, Switzerland, is the largest football/soccer stadium in Switzerland with a capacity of 42,500 and home to FC Basel. Completed in 2001, the stadium was expanded to its current capacity in 2005. The stadium houses a retirement home with over 100 units, a shopping center and a rail station. As a host of the 2008 European Cup, St Jakob-Park will see matches involving Switzerland, The Czech Republic, Portugal and Turkey.
