Plans for this building began in 1938 when the old brick courthouse was condemned. The architect, E.C. Seibert was a member of Witt, Seibert and Halsey, a Texarkana based firm that designed hundreds of buildings throughout Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. The Manhattan Construction Company completed construction and was dedicated in 1939. The Miller County Courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
