Alternate Title: Brinegar Cabin, Blue Ridge Parkway, Alleghany County, North Carolina. Date: 1880/1889. Provenance: Martin and Caroline Brinegar, first owner | Historical Note: The home is considered one of the best and most accessible examples of the Appalachian log dwelling. Brinegar is the attributed builder of the house. The property includes a springhouse and a shed with a full stone basement. The home is currently used as a National Park Service site on the Blue Ridge Parkway and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
