Located in Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma State Capitol is the seat of government and the location of the chambers of the legislature for Oklahoma. The current Capitol building is the second of its kind; the first was built in Guthrie in 1907. The Manhattan Construction Company began construction of the relocated Capitol on July 20, 1914 under the direction of Governor Lee Cruce. The building was completed in 1919 with an expansive 400,000 square feet spread across six floors
