Home of wherry Albion, built in 1898, and the privately owned wherry Maud, built in 1899. Trading wherries of this kind were once a common sight on the Broads waterways, but Albion and Maud are the last two remaining. Some wherries were converted for passenger/pleasure use, while a few were later constructed solely for this purpose: A few of these 'Pleasure' wherries have also survived. Maud is of the usual clinker hull (overlapping planks) while Albion is a one of a kind carvel hulled wherry: see Wikipedia __http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carvel_(boat_building)__Albion can be hired with crew for a fantastic day out on the Broads waterways.____About the model: Trees surrounding the base have been uploaded separately. Also, as usual with these models, some smaller details may be lost due to optimising by Google. Please download the original model by clicking on the picture of the model in the info box.
