The Chicago Shelter is an enclosed working and sleeping space offering year-round protection from the elements. Located a few miles south of downtown Chicago, the shelter draws inspiration from its historic surroundings at the Illinois Institute of Technology. The Chicago Shelter faces Mies van der Rohe’s S. R. Crown Hall, and is intended to be both a tribute and a continuation of its architectural environment.
