Click on the "SketchUp Island" blog logo to learn more about how I make models like this, and how you can, too. Find useful and fun information about modeling and links to related blogs. This model depicts the Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) building (formerly called Walt Disney Feature Animation) in Burbank, California. This is where many of the traditional, hand-drawn animated features were produced in the past twenty years before the switch to CG animation. After a five year hiatus, in 2009 "The Princess and the Frog" marked Disney's return to the older animation technique. WDAS shares a plot of land alongside the 134 freeway with the ABC Television Building. The architecture is meant to reflect the original Kem Weber-designed Animation Building across the street, where classics like "Bambi" and "Sleeping Beauty" were created. Architect, Robert A. M. Stern. The Princess and the Frog movie posters appearing in the model are property of Disney. Model ©2008 Zoungy.
