Completed in 1974 and designed by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the Kluczynski Federal Building is a simple and soundly proportioned steel-and-glass design that illustrates a modern minimalist architectural approach. With a total of 45 floors, the building reaches a height of 545 feet. It is part of the Federal Center (along with the Loop Station Post Office and "Flamingo" sculpture) in Chicago's Loop District. The building was renamed in 1975 to honor U.S Representative (1951-1975) John C. Kluczynski. Modeled by Crystal V. Olin.
