The Church of Holy Mother of Częstochowa in Zielona Góra has been built in the period 1746-1748 on the cross plan. It’s the old Protestant Garden of Christ elevated in the style called “szachulcowy”. Before each mass the painting of Holy Mother is unveiled as it happens in the sanctuary on the Jasna Góra. It’s one of the oldest churches in Zielona Góra. Preparing the buliding-site started in the August 1745. In the September the building has beeb marked up and the cornerstone has been laid. The walls were elevating until the October 20, 1747. Consecration of the church took place in the December 15, 1748. Originally the church hadn’t got a tower, but from the beginning it has been planned for realization. It has been built in the 1828. In the 1929 the clock made in Berlin has been installled on the tower. After the World War II Protestant church has been taken over by Catholics.
