I really like the Defiant when she fist turned up on Deep Space 9.A much maligned series.That I really enjoyed it was very different from the usual Star Trek set show anyway the Defiant came about the fifth or six season as a way to project power in the war with Odo's people the Founders and their purpose breed attack beings the Jimhadar .Three Defiant vessels were built
