In the northeren part of Weißenburg also exist some remains of the city wall. Their western end is the so called "Zwingermauer" (ward wall). In the model the outer of the two city walls can clearly be seen although only its upper part is visible (since the terrain does not allow to model the moat in front of the wall). Between it and the remnants of the upper wall a cooper garage was built. It is therefore that the building is called "Faßhalle". The street's name "Auf dem Schrecker" has its source in the fact that a tower (partly reconstructed) east of this building contained the jail. It was one of the two round towers in the town that served this purpose. In the 18th century the building "Auf dem Schrecker 5" (the westmost in this model) was erected as a jail as well, but it was later turned into a residential building. From this building the city wall stretches (mostly not accessable) west towards the "Ellinger Tor" (Gate towards Ellingen).
