In 1918 Charles Z. Klauder developed his master plan for the University of Colorado campus, a Beaux-Arts site plan incorporating his own "Colorado Style" reflecting the vernacular of the Tuscan Hill country in northern Italy. In 1921 Klauder built Hellems, the first in his "colorado style". Following soon after, The University Museum and Education building reflect that style and mirror several facades and roofing detail found in Hellems. J.B. Benedict designed Dension Arts and Sciences in 1912. A local architect from Littleton, Benedict utilized limestone and a neutral brick to mold graceful arches and ornamental detail characteristic of the Italian Renaissance Revival with French and Mediterranean influences.Model created by Alex Juhola.
