Levering Hall was built in 1928-29 and named in honor of Eugene Levering, a local banker and religious leader and University Trustee from 1898 to1928. Levering and others provided funds to have a YMCA building built on land provided by the University. In 1969, the University exercised its option on the original agreement with the YMCA and purchased the building.
Today, Levering Hall serves as a popular campus hang-out spot, with a variety of dining options and large spaces for meetings and events.
