Angel Mounds is a state museum and historic site located just southeast of Evansville, Indiana. It is nationally recognized as one of the best preserved prehistoric Native American sites in the United States. In 1964 this complex of earthworks was designated a National Historic Landmark because of its significance. The Interpretive Center was constructed in 1972.
