Este modelo pretende mostrar como podría haber sido la nave capitana de la expedición de Colón de 1492. La Santa María era probablemente una carraca de unos 22 m de eslora.Para la construcción de este modelo se utilizaron los planos obtenidos en FreeModelPlans.com con mi gratitud. También se utilizaron fotos y esquemas de las reconstrucciones hechas por España conmemorando el 400º y el 500º aniversario de la invasión europea a América No se modelaron interiores ni elementos estructurales internos del casco de la nave. Utilizar las capas para facilitar visualización. Recomiendo a quien desea construir un modelo de una nave de este tipo lea la tesis de Audrey E. Wells “Virtual reconstruction of a 17th century portugese nau” This is a conjectural model of the 1492 Columbus expedition captain ship. The Santa María (Holy Mary), probably was a 22m long carrack.This model was built following the plans fromFreeModelPlans.com with all my gratitude. Also were used photographs and diagrams of the reconstructions made by Spain conmemorating the 400th and 500th anniversary of the european invasion to America. Neither hull inner structural elements nor interiors rooms were modelled here. To improve elements visualization the file was divided in layers.I recommends to anyone interested in modelling a ship like this to read the thesis of Audrey E. Wells “Virtual reconstruction of a 17th century portugese nau”
