The University of Chile is the oldest university of Chile and one of most prestigious of this country. It was founded by the State, the 17 of September of 1843, in replacement of the University of San Felipe. From the University Reformation of 1968 and the process of regionalización of 1981, it constitutes one of the sixteen universities of the Partnership of State Universities of Chile (CUE), and belongs to the Council of Directors of the Chilean Universities.
