Situated on the University of Chicago campus in Chicago, Illinois, the Rockefeller Chapel was commissioned by the university's founder, John D. Rockefeller in 1918. Rockefeller chose Bertram Goodhue as the architect who built the chapel in the Byzantine/Romanesque style with hints of the Gothic style. The Chapel is 265 feet long and 102 feet wide and is 32,000 tons of Indiana limestone. The eastern tower is 207 feet tall. The chapel is near the Hyde Park neighborhood and Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House. Model by Catherine Moats.
