This is one of a series of trials I carried out to investigate the possibilities of Google Sketchup 7's new dynamic component feature.
This model of a neighbourhood is made of four top level components, the perimeter block, the street, the junction and the park. The variation in each of these components is achieved dynamically, by altering controlling parameters (in component options) such as block depth, floor to floor height, or 'funky factor' or by simply scaling the component to a new size. It would be easy to keep duplicating and slightly varying the pattern to create a large city. (although the resulting model's complexity would probably quickly start to strain your sketchup).
