Wanting to have a good sturdy workbench in my basement for my short stature, I grabbed the plans from some other models I had seen and buffed it up a bit so it would not budge whatsoever while I do woodowrking and building. I added a few dimensions based on how I plan it to look at the end and then planned out a cutting diagram. I wanted to see how the boards would lay out in a cutting diagram so I did that too. The top should be a solid MDF with a 2-4" lip all the way around the edge, and extended on one end for a bench vise. Alternatively, use more 2x4s perpendicular to the lower shelf for a real strong top, then add a good piece of 1/8" hardboard for a smooth surface. It will be pretty herky at completion, but I really wanted it that way, so here it is!
