This one room rural schoolhouse opened in 1917 to serve this ranching community in NW Colorado. It was also used as a gathering place for social events such as spelling bees, quilting guilds, box socials, funerals, and weekend dances. They literally wore out the floor of this little house, when it fell in from so many folks dancing one night. The floor was replaced of course, and remains today along with the six big original windows, wainscoting, plaster walls, and yes, the bell rings. The interior has been converted to a residence, and sits on about 6 beautiful acres ten miles from town.
