The Papal Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls (Italian: Basilica Papale di San Paolo fuori le Mura), commonly known as St Paul's Outside the Walls, is one of four churches that are the great ancient major basilicas or papal basilicas[1] of Rome: the basilicas of St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major, and St. Peter's and Saint Paul Outside the Walls. Archbishop Francesco Monterisi was named archpriest of this basilica in 2009.It is an extraterritorial property of the Holy See(Vatican).It burnt down in1823 and was immediately reconstructed by pope Lion XI.
