This is an annual event held in the small town of Unaciudadsituadacercadelriopocoprofundoyelviejobosquealeste- conlapequenaiglesiaquefueunavezuncobertizodemadera, in California, US. The town's name means "A town located near the shallow river and the old forest to the east with the small church that was once a wooden outhouse" and was named by Fatso John Lambmann in 1834. But anyway, the "Mackerel Slapping Championships" is a game with these rules: 3 Players must but in seperate lanes and must sprint 50ft to a water-filled container with a mackerel inside. They must then pick up the fish, and slap it in as many times as possible within 20 seconds. Easy? Maybe. The world record for the most slaps is 56 by Phillip Smith Fishhead in 2002.
