This model depicts the main building of Michael Reese Hospital, built in 1907. This building, as well as dozens of other hospital pavilions including some designed by architect Walter Gropius, were demolished in 2009-2011 to clear ground for the planned Olympic Village in Chicago's failed bid to host the 2016 Olympics. The Sketchup model was created to illustrate a booklet telling the history of the site, featuring 3D view-master photos of the interior. For this illustration, only the details on the front of the building were depicted. If you enjoy this model, check out the view-master photos of the real place.
