The theatre was built in 1903 and 1904 by the plans of the Viennese architects Ferdynand Fellner and Hermann Helmer. For fifteen yaers it was as a German stage. After war the theatre took over the Polish actors. Renamed in honour of the Polish author and theatre director, Wilam Horzyca (1889-1959). Since 1991, Wilam Horzyca Theatre has been organizing the International Theatre Festival ”Kontakt”. /modelled by aroo/
