Architect: Wilhelm Holzbauer - Built: 1996-98 - The Andromeda Tower is an office building in Vienna's 22th district „Danube City“. It was build between 1996 and 1998 after plans of Wilhelm Holzbauer as the first building of the new quarter Danube City. As a name-giving figure was the Andromeda chosen, a figure of the Greek mythology. The contractor of the tower was the WED Wiener Entwicklungsgesellschaft für den Donauraum AG. At the moment Karl Wlaschek is the owner of the Andromda tower, also known as the founder of the Austrian supermarket chain „Billa“. In the tower there are service enterprises, catering trade enterprises and of course offices, for example the Japanese embassy, the IT-companies Unisys and General Electric. The Andromeda Tower has a height of 113m and an effective area of 37.000 m² and 30 floors. - Model by: Christoph Reznik
