At first the "Nollendorfer Hof" might look like a medieval building, but actually it was built between 1902 and 1908 by architect August Veit as an inn in medieval style. After the second world war it is now used as a hostel and administrative building of Jena's university. It was renovated 1993-1996 and is now showing its full beauty again. The southern entrance is guareded by two iron dragons. On the west side there's an entrance to a "beer tunnel".
