*This is a revised version of my old model uploaded on March 22, 2008. After two years, I finally found the time between my other projects to rebuild this entire model* This Art Deco hotel was designed by Henry Hohauser in 1938. Unlike most Art Deco facades, this one is asymmetrical, although one could still see it as a three-part facade--just with unmatching sides bays and with on off-center central bay. The top two stories extend over the porch and are supported by fluted piers. The ever present Deco eyebrows Art here are rounded and continue around the corner. Like some Art Deco structures, though, it has relief decoration--a kind of railroad track design, that cuts vertically through the windows and continues to outline the top--as well as the circular discs that sometimes add a geometric motif. Bold fluting emphasizes the vertical and curve.
