On the 11th August 2012 this is one of the two post boxes (side by side) re-painted to celebrate the Gold Medal earned by Leeds Women’s Boxer, Nicola Adams. This is part of The Royal Mail’s pledge to paint a Post Box Gold in the hometown of every British Athlete that wins a Gold Medal at the London 2012 Olympics.
