The $2.5-million, 18,000-square-foot Medical Centre has opened its doors for business. The Grand Opening celebration took place on May 23rd, 2009. This facility will begin having two doctors, and another is coming during the summer of 2009 as well as a fourth in 2010. In addition, two doctors will be in the Marmora facility, all part of the Family Health Team. There will also be a social worker, three nurse practitioners and a part-time dietitian.
Community support largely consisting of Cash Donations, has flowed from the municipalities of Centre Hastings (including Madoc), Tudor and Cashel Township and Madoc Township, all partners in the Tri Area Medical Centre.
The Tri-Area Medical Centre provides health care services for approximately 7,000 residents and an additional 3,000 in the summer months due to seasonal residents.
