The Giant Barrel was built in 1934 by the wine-grower Fritz Keller in the traditional manner except that he needed 200 fir trees from the Black Forest for the 15 m long barrel staves. With a diameter of 13.5 m and a volume of 1.7 million liters, it is the largest barrel of the world. It does not contain wine, but a good restaurant with seating for 650 guests.
