While the seas of the cambrian belonged to the invertabrates, the first chordates eaked out a living in the background of all the evolutionary ruckus. from the early chordates emerged a revolutionary creature, destined to reshape the story of life on our planet; Haikouicthys. While Hiakouicthys was an incredibly tiny animal (little over half an inch long!), it was a milestone for life, the first fish ever, and the anscestor to all fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals (including us) that ever existed.
