The Papal Basilica of Saint Peter (Latin: Basilica Sancti Petri), officially known in Italian as the Basilica Papale di San Pietro in Vaticano and commonly known as St. Peter's Basilica, is a Late Renaissance church located within the Vatican City. St. Peter's Basilica has the largest interior of any Christian church in the world, holding 60,000 people. It is regarded as one of the holiest Catholic sites. W.I.P. # 2 - In this version I show the three types of columns that will be used in the model - in particular the type "3. VERY SIMPLIFIED" will be used if necessary to reduce complexity. For more details you can read my article at http://arrigosilva.blogspot.com/2010/10/berniniscolonnade.html --- The model is in the finishing stage, tuning and optimization of architecture and textures, interfacing with GE. The release of the final version is planned for early November. |
