Software Compatibility

Spirit
Spirit and SketchUp developers have integrated SketchUp directly into their BUILDING INFORMATION NETWORK, allowing SPIRIT users real-time integration with SketchUp without the need for any plug-ins. SPIRIT users can import SketchUp SKP files directly or reference the files in their native SKP format without the need for translation. All modifications made to SketchUp files referenced in SPIRIT are automatically updated in SPIRIT. All materials and textures assigned to the model in SketchUp are directly transferred to SPIRIT's high-end rendering solution, Fresco II (Lightworks integration), including texture size, origin, mapping… A multiplicity of light sources and high-quality procedural textures can be added for enhanced realism.

SketchUp ArcGIS Plugin
This plug-in enables ArcGIS users with the 3D Analyst extension to quickly create highly detailed three-dimensional models. GIS professionals can now create and visualize 3D models in SketchUp and then seamlessly transfer the 3D models to an ArcGIS geodatabase for further analysis.

MicroStation Plugin
Bentley users can read SketchUp SKP files in MicroStation and then save them as DGN files, or reference them in native SKP format without translation. In the near future, Bentley users will also be able to write SKP SketchUp files from MicroStation. Bentley users can also download SketchUp files directly into MicroStation from the 3D Warehouse. The user can then employ MicroStation's full array of tools, or provide further refinement with the more discipline-specific Building Information Modeling capabilities available in Bentley Architecture. This tight integration enables users to seamlessly take advantage of the "elegance and spontaneity" provided by SketchUp from Google, and the robust design environment and Building Information Modeling offered by Bentley.

ArchiCAD Plugin
The SketchUp import add-on for ArchiCAD is a unique tool that allows designers to import SketchUp models into ArchiCAD seamlessly for design development purposes. Autodesk Architectural Desktop Plugin
The ease of use and flexibility of modeling in SketchUp provides a powerful alternative to using ADT Mass Elements. Now you can bring SketchUp model geometry directly into ADT in two ways:

• as straight up geometry: all vertical surfaces become walls, all horizontal surfaces become slabs and sloping surfaces become roof elements
• as translated geometry: based on material or layer

Functionality Enhancement

OBJ Exporters
The OBJ file format is a standard way to exchange 3D objects between modeling, rendering, and animation applications such as Maya. With this plugin, SketchUp users can export models directly to the OBJ format as polygonal geometry with materials and texture mapping information intact. Shapefile (*.shp) Importer

eDrawings Publisher for SketchUp
The publisher is an add-on to SketchUp that allows designers to export their models to eDrawings format. eDrawings is a well accepted solution among MCAD professionals who need to share their designs among teams. The professional version enables users to Create markups, Measure the model, Create Cross-section, Password Protect eDrawings file, Move components and Insert Stamps.
