Who qualifies?

Educator Licenses are available for free to educators who would like to use Google SketchUp Pro as a part of their curriculum. In order to qualify for a free Google SketchUp Pro Educator License, you must:

• Be an educator at an accredited educational institution.
• Provide a current faculty ID, course syllabus, or other similar document

Please note that SketchUp for Education Licenses are to be used for educational purposes only; they should not be used for commercial (for-profit) work of any kind.

How much does the Google SketchUp Pro Educator License cost?

Google SketchUp Pro Educator Licenses are free for educators.

When do Educator Licenses expire?

Educator Licenses are valid for the duration of your course, and can be renewed as many times as you like. Educator Licenses issued before April 1st expire June 30th of the same year. Licenses issued after April 1st expire June 30th of the next year.

How do Google SketchUp Pro Educator Licenses work?

Google SketchUp Pro Educator Licenses are single-user licenses. They are network-aware, meaning that the same license cannot be used to run Google SketchUp Pro concurrently on more than one networked computer at a time. To run Google SketchUp Pro on several networked computers at once, please read about the Networked Lab License.

How are Educator Licenses different from regular commercial licenses?

Like all of our educational licenses, our Educator License and our regular commercial license work exactly the same; we haven't put any limitations on printing, saving, or anything else. The only difference is that Educator Licenses expire, while commercial licenses don't.

Can I share my Educator License with my students?

We encourage you to share your Educator License with your students. Doing so will allow you to introduce Google SketchUp Pro without requiring anyone to purchase anything. Google SketchUp Pro Educator Licenses are single-user licenses. They are network-aware, meaning that the same license cannot be used to run Google SketchUp Pro concurrently on more than one networked computer at a time.

What happens when the next version of SketchUp is released?

As with all SketchUp for Education licenses, version upgrades are free.

Will I get a disk?

Everything on the disk is available for download free from this website. Because of this, we do not send any CD's.

How do I request a Google SketchUp Pro Educator License?

To order a new (or to renew) your Google SketchUp Pro educator license, choose one of our educational resellers to order from. In order to complete the license process, they will require proof of academic verification. Educator licenses expire each year on June 30th.

Are Google SketchUp Pro Educator License holders eligible for free technical support?

Since there is no charge for these licenses, we are not able to extend free email technical support to holders of Google SketchUp Pro Educator Licenses. If you need help, please keep in mind that answers to most questions can be found in the SketchUp Help Center. It's free, it's exhaustive, and it's available 24 hours a day.
