Who qualifies?

Google SketchUp Pro Networked Lab Licenses are available to accredited educational institutions for use in instructional settings. In addition, community centers, non-profit museums, public libraries, correctional facilities and other not-for-profit organizations with instructional facilities may qualify.

We regret that educational institutions and not-for-profit organizations who would like to use Google SketchUp Pro for any purpose other than teaching students do not qualify for educational pricing. This includes school, hospital and religious organizations' facilities departments.

Please note that SketchUp for Education Licenses are to be used for educational purposes only; they should not be used for commercial (for-profit) work of any kind.

How much do Google SketchUp Pro Networked Lab Licenses cost?

License terms of one, two or three years are available, and version updates and upgrades are free. Networked Lab Licenses MSRP are as follows:

  • Three-Year Licenses cost $30 per seat (or $10 per seat per year)
  • Two-Year Licenses cost $25 per seat (or $12.50 per seat per year)
  • One-Year Licenses cost $15 per seat (or $15 per seat per year)

When do Networked Lab Licenses expire?

Networked Lab Licenses expire on one of two dates, depending on when the license was generated:

  • Labs purchased Jan 1st through July 31st expire on July 31st
  • Labs purchased Aug 1st through Dec 31st expire on Dec 31st

For example, a one-year lab license purchased on March 10th of 2008 would expire July 31st of 2009. A three-year license purchased on September 20th of 2008 would expire December 31st of 2011.

How do Networked Lab Licenses work?

Networked Lab Licenses are intended for installation on computers in a networked lab situation, and are floating network licenses. For example, a 25-seat license can be installed on any number of networked computers, allowing up to 25 users to run Google SketchUp Pro concurrently. Any number of seats can be purchased.

Windows network installations require one of the machines on the network to act as a license server; other computers must be able to 'see' this machine on the network in order for the Lab License to work. On Mac networks, no license server is necessary.

How are Educator Licenses different from regular commercial licenses?

Like all of our educational licenses, our Networked Lab License and our regular commercial license work exactly the same; we haven't put any limitations on printing, saving, or anything else. The only difference is that Networked Lab Licenses expire, while commercial licenses don't.

Can I keyserve my license?

If you have a Sassafrass keyserver and would like to use it to manage your Google SketchUp Pro Networked Lab License, please indicate such when ordering through one of our resellers. Currently, only Windows licenses are keyservable. If you have no idea what a keyserver is, please ask your network administrator. You probably don't use one.

What do you offer for schools with laptop programs?

If you have a laptop program at your institution, find out more about SketchUp Laptop Program Licensing.

Will I get a disk?

Everything on the disk is available for download free from this website. Because of this, we do NOT offer any CDs.

How do I order a license?
